Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor backend engineers in a collaborative, high-ownership engineering environment focused on technical excellence, continuous improvement, and delivery quality.
• Drive the design, development, and operation of scalable backend services and APIs across a modern polyglot ecosystem.
• Own backend engineering initiatives end-to-end: from requirements analysis and architecture design through implementation, deployment, observability, and production support.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and cross-functional delivery teams to build reliable, maintainable, and scalable technical solutions. 
• Contribute to the evolution of backend platforms and distributed systems with strong focus on: scalability, resiliency, operational simplicity, security, and long-term maintainability. 
• Establish and continuously improve engineering standards and development practices, including: code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, incident readiness, and operational excellence.
• Support engineers’ growth through coaching, mentorship, regular feedback, and technical leadership.
• Help balance delivery priorities with sustainable engineering practices and reduction of technical debt. 
• Contribute to architecture and technology decisions across backend services, platforms, and engineering workflows. 
• Promote engineering effectiveness through modern development methodologies, including AI-assisted development workflows, specification-driven development (SDD), and developer productivity practices.
• Help foster a culture of adaptability, learning, and cross-team collaboration as technologies and organizational needs evolve. 

 

Bring to the Team

• Strong backend engineering experience with solid technical foundations and a systems-thinking mindset.
• Significant experience designing, building, and operating production backend systems using modern backend technologies such as Java & Go.
• Comfortable working in polyglot engineering environments and collaborating across multiple technologies, architectures, and delivery teams. 
• You have strong understanding of: distributed systems, microservices architectures, API design, asynchronous communication patterns, and cloud-native engineering principles.
• Experience leading engineers directly or acting as a senior technical mentor within backend or platform teams. 
• Combinination of technical depth with pragmatism and engineering quality, delivery speed, operational reliability, and long-term maintainability.
• Hands-on experience with modern engineering tooling and practices, including: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, relational databases, and messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Adaptability, curiousity, with a strong willingness to learn new technologies and approaches when needed.
• You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively across teams, and can navigate technical and organizational complexity.
• Interest in modern software engineering methodologies, including AI-assisted engineering, developer productivity optimization, and structured or specification-driven development approaches.
