Job Description

Sister / Charge Nurse – Haematology
Location: London, HCA at UCH
Contract: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift pattern: Days, nights and weekends
Salary: Competitive with shift enhancements

At HCA Healthcare UK, you’ll find more than just a leadership role. You’ll find a place where your expertise is trusted, your voice matters, and your growth is actively supported. At HCA at UCH, our haematology service sits at the forefront of private healthcare, caring for patients facing complex and life-changing diagnoses. Here, every decision you make has real impact, supported by world-leading consultants, advanced treatments, and a team that values collaboration as much as clinical excellence.

This is a role where leadership is felt day to day. You’ll guide a skilled team, shape the culture of the ward, and play a central part in delivering highly specialised care, from stem cell transplants to CAR-T and gene therapies that are changing what’s possible in healthcare today.

You’ll also be joining one of Europe’s largest haematology centres, where innovation is part of everyday practice and your development is taken seriously. Whether you see your future as a Ward Manager, CNS, or in advanced clinical leadership, you’ll have clear, supported pathways to help you get there.

Working closely with the Ward Manager, you’ll take ownership of the ward environment, stepping into full leadership when needed and ensuring care is delivered safely, effectively, and with compassion. You’ll support your team to grow, build confidence in decision making, and maintain high standards that make a difference to patients and families every day.

At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.

What you’ll bring

  • You’ll have current NMC registration in Adult Nursing
  • You’ll bring strong experience in haematology, with confidence across complex pathways
  • You’ll be SACT competent and comfortable working within a specialised setting
  • You’ll have experience leading or supporting a team, with a collaborative leadership style
You’ll be motivated to grow your leadership career and contribute to a high-performing team
