Unit Summary

As the only hospital serving the surrounding areas, we provide comprehensive care for a diverse range of medical needs, including trauma cases, pneumonia, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma, and various other illnesses. Staffed by a team of caring respiratory therapists with decades of knowledge in the field, you will be able to learn hands on skills in the respiratory therapy field and network with other professionals in your industry.
Position Summary
The technician trainee under the guidance of the Supervisor, Department Director/Manager, and Medical Director performs the duties necessary to give patients adequate ventilation by use of medical gases and breathing equipment in accordance with age specific and culturally appropriate patient care guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Respiratory Therapy program
Experience
- Must complete form in house training in Respiratory therapy Procedures
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
- Current Certification in BLS
Preferred Requirements
Preferred Education
- Have completed a semester of clinicals through Respiratory Therapy Program
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge and skill base of delivering Respiratory medications and performing general Respiratory procedures

- Must be able to withstand the stress of doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Must be able to withstand long hours of standing, walking, stooping, bending and sitting.
- Must be able to lift or move patients and equipment used. Must be able to push / pull force up to 55 pounds.
- Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situation.
- Must be able to work as a team member with peers, other department managers and staff and administration.
- Average manual dexterity to reach, manipulate, move, etc., equipment and hearing and vision within or correctable to normal range.
