Overview
The Project Engineer II will complete professional/technical engineering reviews, assessments, inspections, and other engineering assignments, and deliver this data in formats and in applications that support critical planning, engineering, and decision support activities across the enterprise. This position will be working directly with the Senior Engineer, the Client, Teaming Partners, and other Engineering Staff supporting Water and Wastewater Projects.
Responsibilities
This position will work under the general supervision of a Senior Program Director. The following are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive; this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned:
- Plan, review designs and oversee the construction of infrastructure and structures.
- Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
- Use a range of computer software for developing detailed designs
- Undertake complex calculations
- Assist in the liaison with clients and a variety of professionals including engineers and subcontractors
- Compile job specs and supervising tendering procedures
- Resolve design and development problems
- Assist in managing budgets and project resources
- Making sure the project complies with legal requirements, especially health, and safety
- Assess the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
- Ensure projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time
- Access and analyze technical and operational data from multiple data sources (e.g., BIMS, REVIT, GIS systems, etc.), and reconcile data between systems
- Undertake data input and production of digital maps, surveys, engineering drawings, and special database reports
- Assist with the preparation or review of project documentation, as directed, (e.g. presentations, sketches, drawings, maps, technical memoranda, meeting records, etc.)
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
EXPERIENCE:
- 5-10 years of project engineer experience desired
LICENSE:
- EIT Required
- GA PE or ability to obtain within one (1) year of your start date.
EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
- Microsoft Office applications, Auto CAD, Civil 3D
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment working with a multi-faceted team, but may involve field work during design or periodic construction site visits. This role routinely uses standard engineering practices to support the projects as assigned.
