The Business Enablement Lead (BEL) serves as a strategic partner to the Investment Banking and Capital Markets (IBCM) Technology division, driving operational excellence, organizational alignment, and consistent execution of key business priorities. This role works closely with the divisional leader to oversee business operations, optimize processes, and strengthen coordination across teams. Acting as a trusted advisor, the BEL provides the insights, structure, and connectivity needed to enable effective decision making and enhance overall performance.

Functions as the primary liaison between the IBCM Technology Team, the broader Wholesale TD&O organization, the WHL BMO, and TEMPO. The BEL ensures seamless communication, timely information flow, and alignment of goals and initiatives.

Core responsibilities include Chief of Staff–like leadership across strategic planning, operational reporting, communication, and business management. This includes gathering, consolidating, and communicating the division’s strategy, goals, priorities, accomplishments, risks, financials, and workforce insights. The BEL also serves as the central point of contact for enterprise and cross functional requests, ensuring responses are coordinated, accurate, and aligned with divisional objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversees cross-functional, complex technology projects.
2. Identifies, designs, and implements advanced process and technology improvements to enhance operational workflows.
3. Collaborates with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to align business operations with technology strategies and organizational goals.
4. Monitors, analyses, and reports on key performance metrics to drive continuous operational improvements.
5. Ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
6. Communicates operational status, risks, and strategic improvement plans to executive stakeholders.
7. Provides project leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members and junior professionals.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
2. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in business operations or related professional roles.
3. Extensive knowledge of business processes, technology applications, and operational management.
4. Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).

Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
2. Familiarity with operational technology tools and systems.
3. Previous experience in a technology-driven business environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Financial Services & Capital Markets Experience - 15+ years of leadership experience in financial services, including Investment Banking and Capital Markets, with strong understanding of sales & trading / investment banking activities, and their associated regulatory, risk, and control environments.

2. Senior Business Management / COO‑Style Leadership - Proven experience in a Chief of Staff or business execution role for a large financial services organization, overseeing strategy execution, governance, and operational cadence.

3. Portfolio, Governance & Performance Management Expertise - Demonstrated success managing enterprise portfolios, executive reporting, KPIs, and investment governance across complex, multi‑year initiatives.

4. Executive Advisory & Stakeholder Leadership - Strong executive presence with the ability to advise senior leaders, synthesize complex information, and coordinate enterprise and cross‑functional responses.
