The Business Systems Analyst – SAP & Cloud Analytics is a critical member of Columbia Sportswear’s Data & Analytics organization, supporting enterprise analytics across SAP and modern cloud platforms. This role works in close partnership with the Senior Data Engineer – BW and collaborates routinely with the Commercial, Supply Chain Databricks engineering team to deliver scalable, high‑impact analytics solutions.

Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and multiple engineering teams, this role ensures that work is well‑understood, prioritized, and delivers incremental business value.

This position is well‑suited for a technically inclined analyst or former developer who enjoys working across platforms, coordinating delivery, and growing into modern cloud‑based analytics while leveraging strong SAP ecosystem knowledge.

  • Explain SAP ECC / BW data structures, hierarchies, metrics, and business logic to support downstream data modeling and analytics

  • Provide functional and data level context to help teams correctly interpret and use SAP sourced data in cloud platforms

  • Contribute to documentation and shared understanding of critical SAP datasets and analytics behavior

Cloud & Modern Analytics Collaboration

  • Work directly with the Commercial, Supply Chain Databricks engineering team to clarify requirements, validate data, and align SAP sourced analytics with cloud delivery patterns

  • Support analytics initiatives that span SAP BW, Databricks, and Power BI, ensuring consistency and clarity across platforms

  • Partner with engineers and analysts to enable trusted Power BI semantic models and datasets sourced from both SAP and cloud environments

  • Grow hands-on familiarity with Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI, contributing to analysis, validation, and backlog readiness

Requirements & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and document analytics requirements, including metrics, logic, filters, and data validation needs

  • Translate business requests into clear, actionable requirements suitable for BW, Databricks, or Power BI delivery

  • Coordinate work across SAP BW engineers, cloud data engineers, and analytics teams to ensure expectations and delivery timelines are aligned

  • Communicate status, risks, and outcomes clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences

YOU ARE

  • Comfortable operating across SAP and modern cloud analytics platforms

  • Organized and proactive at managing work intake and prioritization

  • Confident communication with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders

  • Motivated to grow into modern analytics delivery while leveraging deep SAP knowledge

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience working in or supporting SAP analytics environments (SAP BW, BW on HANA, or SAP ECC reporting)

  • Strong understanding of enterprise reporting concepts, metrics, and data quality considerations

  • Experience triaging issues, analyzing production data problems, and supporting widely used analytics assets

  • Proven ability to gather, document, and communicate business and technical requirements

  • Experience collaborating with data engineers or BI teams in an Agile or iterative delivery environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE
