Senior Software Developer

We are seeking a talented senior application developer to join a specialty development team. You will design and develop software and web applications using .NET and C#, contribute to modernizing our proprietary application portfolio, and support data integration initiatives including automated data ingestion processes.
 

What You'll Do

Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain software and web applications using .NET framework and C#
• Write clean, well-documented code adhering to established standards and best practices
• Contribute to maintenance, bug fixes, and enhancements of in-house software products
• Participate in modernizing legacy applications to contemporary Microsoft technologies
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews, providing technical input and constructive feedback
   

Technical Design & Planning

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and plan solutions
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation strategies
• Estimate work resources accurately and communicate timelines and dependencies
• Read and translate technical specifications into reliable application logic
   

Database Development

• Design and develop SQL Server databases, queries, and stored procedures
• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity
• Collaborate on data modeling and schema design
   

Data Integration & Management  (shared responsibilities)

• Support, maintain and enhance automated data ingestion processes
• Work with structured data formats (CSV, JSON, XML) and external file-based data feeds (FTP/SFTP)
• Implement data validation, transformation, and error-handling logic
• Troubleshoot production data issues and perform root cause analysis
• Document data integration processes and maintain technical documentation
   

Problem-Solving & Communication

• Analyze and identify functional and business shortcomings in existing software
• Communicate technical issues, solutions, and recommendations to team members and stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify solutions aligned with company needs
• Escalate technical challenges to your Development Manager when needed
   

Continuous Learning

• Stay current with latest technologies, frameworks, and security best practices
• Monitor security vulnerabilities and industry updates relevant to our technology stack
• Identify opportunities to enhance application security, performance, and maintainability
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance productivity
• Participate in team knowledge-sharing sessions
   

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, OR equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of professional experience building applications using C# and .NET framework
• 3+ years of professional experience with SQL Server database design, development, and optimization
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
• Experience with web application development using ASP.NET or ASP.NET Core
• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud-based technologies
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies and best practices
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Flexibility to work at least half of a scheduled shift to coincide with US business hours (Central time zone)
