PAY RANGE:
$18.25 - $20.50 Hourly

HOURS/AVAILABILITY:
Expected hours: flexible hours
Various flexible schedules:
- 4 hour shift
- After school
- Day shift
- Evening shift

Sound good to you? Here’s what your duties will be:
- Ensure the safety of all members, program participants, and patrons
- Be a water safety professional through monitoring aquatic facilities, preventing and responding to emergencies, and executing aquatic policies and procedures
- Keep your skills fresh through Y trainings and drills
- Communicate effectively with students and families in a patient, friendly manner
- Show you are a positive role model
How do I qualify?
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must hold a YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- Must be currently certified in CPR PRO/AED, First Aid, O2
- Must have visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in emergency situations
- Must have ability to observe participant activities adequately, to enforce safety regulations and to apply appropriate policies and procedures
Child Protection Commitment
The YMCA requires all staff to share responsibility for preventing child abuse by upholding professional boundaries, completing mandatory Praesidium training, and reporting concerns. All candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening, including criminal and sex offender checks.
Note: All Aquatics team members must be at least 16 years old and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Aquatics employees are eligible for random drug screen testing.
