
Principal Product Manager - Tech, RISC Inventory Management
Job Description
You will own the execution of high-impact inventory management programs, by partnering closely with engineering and product leaders across 6+ VP organizations to build scalable solutions that minimize business disruption while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards. You will drive measurable improvements in key metrics related to suppression of recalled products, stranded inventory reduction, selection reinstatement timelines, and removal order effectiveness.

Key job responsibilities
* Own product strategy and definition for the entire RISC Inventory Management portfolio, including areas such as “stop sale” processes, removal and reinstatement lifecycles, managing inventory at granular levels (e.g., lot code), certified destruction, specialized fulfillment networks like EFN.
* Define long-term compliance platform architecture and drive ownership rationalization across VP organizations
* Serve as single-threaded product owner for RISC VP-level goal on Total Compliance Lifecycle Defect Rate Reduction
* Build and maintain alignment with engineering and product leaders across 6+ VP organizations
* Own RISC-led MBR/QBR governance mechanism for VP-level goal with Director/VP-level attendees
* Drive roadmap prioritization conversations with partner VP organizations
* Write PRFAQs, product requirement documents, and technical specifications for complex, distributed systems
* Define success metrics and measurement frameworks for portfolio-level product initiatives
The Regulatory Intelligence Safety and Compliance (RISC) team is on a mission to protect customers from unsafe or non-compliant products while enabling trustworthy shopping experiences at Amazon. We are
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- 8+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders
- Experience influencing groups outside their own VP from architecture perspective
- Principal-level technical depth: Deep understanding of distributed systems, AI/ML architectures, and supply chain/fulfillment systems
- Strategic product thinking: Experience defining long-term product vision and architecture, not just tactical execution
- AI/ML product expertise: Familiarity with agentic systems, ML-based decisioning, and generative AI product development
- Senior stakeholder management: Comfortable engaging with Directors and VPs as a peer
- Org charter and ownership discussions: Experience negotiating capability ownership transfers across VP organizations

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
