Job Description Summary
The customer finance team assists GE Aerospace customers with obtaining financing from 3rd party sources and with assessing and mitigating credit risk for the company.1) The team interfaces with airlines, banks, funds and other financiers on asset-backed structures and unsecured financing of new and used aircraft, engines, parts and overhauls.
2) The customer finance team works with banks and other financial institutions on Letters of Credit and trade finance solutions to mitigate credit risk in GE Aerospace’s commercial agreements with its customers.
3) The team provides input into our credit assessment models. These models and related activities feed into the management of customer account receivables. The team provides inputs on macro credit events and airline analysis/ deep dives for senior management reviews.
4) The customer finance team is closely aligned with its counterparts at other OEMs where appropriate on financing and asset management activity.
The position seeks to enhance GE Aerospace relationship with airline financing and treasury teams and with financiers in Asia (including China). The selected candidate is expected to work closely with the sales teams, local risk team and product line resources to support airline campaigns and the sales of GE Aerospace products and services. The role also has a strong interface with finance and controllership teams to build solutions for mitigating credit risk and with leading the portfolio management of transactions in the region.

Role Overview:
- Leads interactions with financial institutions, customers, other investors to develop innovative funding solutions that solve customer problems and enable growth.
- Work collaboratively and cross-functionally (e.g. Sales, Customer Support, Risk, Product Line, Finance) where financing is needed to support the transaction. The role will carry targets for supporting revenue, mitigating risk and enabling shop visits in the region
- With the support of the sales team – position yourself as a trusted advisor for our customer treasury/ financing teams at airlines in Asia
- Establish relationships with relevant ECAs and DFIs in Asia and build the case for supporting GE Aerospace and its customers
- Manage reporting and asset management for transactions in Asia.
- Provide inputs on Asian airlines at regional and global reviews. Work with the credit risk team on quarterly assessments of airlines.
- Coach the in-region commercial team on financing products and market developments
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable with working independently on financial transactions, engaging with senior executives at our customers and with a creative approach to solving financing challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience
- Strong network within financial institutions in Asia
- Comfortable with financial statement analysis
- Self-driven with an ability to cope with ambiguity. The role requires thinking across the gamut of financing solutions and/or financial participants.
- Deal experience with both cross-border/ USD financing and local currency transactions.
- Track record of establishing senior level relationships in customer/ client organizations
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in economics, business or similar
- Managed accounts independently in prior roles
- Knowledge of aviation financing is not essential. However, experience with financing large tickets/ large asset/ industrial sectors is desirable. Some exposure to trade finance and Letters of Credit preferred.
- Ability to influence without direct reporting relationships and to work collaboratively with distributed teams to deliver tangible outcomes
