Position Explanation:

Provide expeditious and courteous service while maintaining a clean area and a positive outlook. Wait on customers at the counter. Maintain stocked shelves. Keep supervisors advised of product shortages and problems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and handle customer requests promptly and courteously.
  • Enter counter sales tickets into the computer with the necessary catalog numbers, quantities and sufficient description for accurate pricing.
  • Answer the telephone promptly and courteously and handle telephone inquiries and orders promptly and accurately.
  • Sell merchandise, develop and present a sales personality with all customers.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of plumbing, heating and industrial supply products is a plus.

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
