About the Role:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for selling and supporting distribution customers, new distribution customers, and subassembly customers, as well as assisting with product evaluations and specifications. The role involves identifying target accounts, cultivating customer relationships, and driving profitable new business growth. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, leveraging your entrepreneurial spirit and customer-focused approach to drive growth across various markets.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
Sales Execution:
  • Sell and support existing and new distribution customers.
  • Sell and support subassembly customers through distribution.
  • Assist customers with product evaluations and specifications.
  • Prioritize opportunities to maximize sales and margin potential.
Market Development:
  • Develop and execute sales plans to drive business growth.
  • Identify and resolve customer pain points with tailored solutions.
  • Monitor market trends and competition; provide insights on new product opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates on progress and results to management.
Client Engagement:
  • Provide technical support and training to end users and distributors.
  • Conduct detailed plant visits and reinforce the value proposition of our products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts.
  • Obtain specifications and approvals from engineering firms and major accounts.
Sales Planning:
  • Manage travel and entertainment expenses to budget.
  • Participate in market/channel projects to support overall business strategy.
Relationship Building:
  • Capture and report customer complaints and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide product training and sales direction to distributors.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal teams to meet customer needs and optimize products and services.
  • Keep current with internal and external training and development.
  • Manage distribution channels to maximize IPSA market share.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of products, applications, and competitive activity.
Skills Required:
  • Experience calling on end users, distributors/channels and pulling business through to the market via channels.
  • Track record of superior performance in high growth business.
  • Ability to understand and sell technical products.
  • High level of business acumen. Demonstrated negotiation skills, decision making ability, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused with a positive attitude
  • Previous experience in Technical Sales or Business Development, preferably in Structural Adhesives or Composites
  • Organized, results-driven, and able to work collaboratively to meet deadlines
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in a similar market.
  • Proven track record of high performance in a growth-oriented business.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
Communication Skills:
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written) required.
  • Ability to follow written and oral procedures and instructions. 
Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Travel: 
  • This position may require up to 70% travel. Frequently travel outside the local area and overnight.
