Purpose Statement
The job of Student Supervisor is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process with specific responsibilities for ensuring the safety and welfare of students during non-classroom activities; minimizing the frequency and/or severity of harmful incidents; and communicating observations and/or incidents that have a potential impact on the general well-being of students, school personnel, and/or visitors. Bilingual preferred. This job reports to Principal
Essential Functions
- Communicates safety and security policies and enforcement procedures to students, teachers, and staff (e.g. process for entering/exiting cafeteria, sit where told, throw away trash, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring their understanding of such information and the potential consequences of violation.
- Escorts students (e.g. to nurse/office, to/from meals and recess, etc.) for the purpose of providing direction and ensuring their safety.
- Monitors cafeteria and playground areas (e.g. spills, hazards, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
- Monitors student behavior (e.g. to/from cafeteria, recess, and during meals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring student compliance with established guidelines, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, and secure facility.
- Refers incidents to appropriate site personnel (e.g. rule violations, suspicious visitors, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring follow-up in accordance with administrative, site security and student safety
Experience: Job related experience is desired.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, IVP (Identity Verified Print) Fingerprint Clearance Card
Salary: $16/Hr
