Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and collaborative Manager, Engineering Performance to lead performance management across our engineering programs. In this role, you will serve as a key partner to Delivery and Design Directors, ensuring cost, schedule, and scope alignment while driving excellence in project execution.
You will oversee Engineering Performance processes, support Earned Value Management (EVM) and lead a team responsible for integrating work planning across multiple sub-teams in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Provide updates on engineering performance (cost, schedule, scope) to Delivery and Design Directors
- Support and ensure effective Earned Value Management (EVM) practices across Engineering
- Coordinate work planning and resource alignment across all Delivery and Design sub-teams
- Oversee integration of activities into the work management system (ADO)
- Manage business administration processes including PO management, task authorizations, and financial tracking
- Support CAMs with change management processes and documentation
- Lead and develop the Engineering Performance team
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required
- 10+ years of experience in project management within the defense or heavy industry sector
- 5+ years in an engineering leadership or management role
- Proven experience in:
- Naval shipbuilding or large-scale industrial fabrication projects
- Earned Value Management (EVM) practices
- Complex, cross-functional project environments
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
