Shift:   3:30p – 2 a  M-Th w/OT as needed

Rate of Pay:    $23.90 – 26.21

STATEMENT OF JOB
The SS Machine Operator II reports to the Stainless Steel (SS) Team Lead or Production Supervisor. Duties include performing hydro testing, running mass spec. and buffing equipment (robot/pendant use), cleaning equipment, equipment troubleshooting, filling, gassing, spot welding, polishing, labeling,  packaging and valve assembly, etc. The company reserves the right to rotate employees to other departments or work assignments within the organization as needed based upon skill set, production needs, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent. Must have reading, writing and simple math skills. Must be able to or willing to learn how to read blueprints. Must be a team-player.

  • Ability to recognize chemical hazardous labels.
  • Spill management and clean-up.
  • Air shutoff locations.
  • Capability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements.
  • Proficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly.

DUTIES

  • Checks to see that all parts are available per work order specifications.
  • Assembles parts according to drawings or work instructions.
  • Maintains required records, i.e. serial number logs, production counts, scrap records, etc.
  • Applies proper labels.
  • Performs necessary testing on required parts.
  • Uses hand tools, power screw driver, LocTite and an assortment of lubricants.
  • Most items are light, but occasional weight of 35# with team lift required to move boxes of supplies up to 50#
  • Package competed units.
  • Operates medium complex machinery used in the production process, such as automated mass spec., buffer, and labeler. Semi-automated spot welder, chemical pumps, presses, test equipment.
  • Perform basic Robot Pendant use to allow for startup and shut down of the robot.
  • Performs sets up, machine adjustments, and routine maintenance on production machinery.
  • Ensures machines are operating at required capacity and that production requirements are met.   Communicates WIP needs and parts shortages to the Team Lead person, senior operator, or the forklift driver (as appropriate) in a timely manner.
  • Observes machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance production.
  • Assists in preparing and maintaining Scorecards, Gemba Boards, etc. so that performance problems can be identified and resolved.
  • Maintains equipment and performs preventive maintenance notifying Team Lead/Maintenance personnel if any machines are malfunctioning; assists maintenance team in troubleshooting and equipment malfunctioning diagnostics.
  • Follows work instructions/ODS’s to assemble cylinders, operate equipment and adjust machines.
  • Monitors quality of cylinders and raw materials throughout the process ensuring that blueprints, code and quality standards are met; scraps out material as needed.
  • Performs first-piece inspections on the final products.
  • Performs assembly, packaging housekeeping and other related duties as may be assigned by the Team Lead or Supervisor.
  • Enters labor hours and quantities into SAP.
  • Supporting the training and development of peers within the organization.
  • Monitors the performance of equipment; identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems to maintain efficient operations.
  • Recognizes process upset; both special and common cause and notifies the appropriate person.
  • Assists maintenance team in basic troubleshooting and equipment malfunctioning diagnostics.
  • Visually inspects welds to assure that blueprints, code and quality standards are met.
  • Cross train in any/all department areas as deemed necessary.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $23.90 – 26.21(Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
