Financial Accountant (Asset Accounting Focus)
- Location: Parramatta
- Employment type: Temporary Full-Time until up to 30 June 2028
- Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, $113,574 - $125,720 pa, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role
As a Financial Accountant (asset accounting focus) for Homes NSW, you’ll support the Department’s statutory and financial reporting obligations through the delivery of high-quality asset related information that accurately reflect the organisation’s true financial position.
What you’ll do
This role will take responsibility for the delivery of accurate, timely processing of accounting transactions in the Fixed Assets space from acquisition to disposal, including Work in Progress. You will also assist on major projects, and review, analyse and reconcile various systems to ensure asset data information record and flow through accurately. Day to day tasks include:
- Maintaining fixed asset registers for Homes NSW from acquisition, disposal, adjustments and revaluation.
- Performing high volume, accurate transaction processing and analysis, delivering quality and on time reporting services specific to fixed assets and projects.
- Delivering high level of integrity in the handling of complex processes, interfaces and data integrity.
- Contributing to the continual improvement of deliverables to improve the timeliness and accuracy of fixed assets services.
- Meeting statutory requirements, including preparing account reconciliations and audit work papers that underpin the accuracy of the Financial Statements and monthly management reports.
- Ad Hoc tasks required from Property Financial Analytics team.
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Commerce or related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Current membership of an Accounting body - CPA, CA or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in fixed asset accounting (minimum 5 years); experienced with data integrity through reconciliation processes..
- Demonstrated ability in analysing large, complex data sets and solving complex issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- SAP experience in project and fixed asset module is preferred
