Job Description

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Position supports multiple IU Health facilities

Benchmarks for Success

  • First 3 Months: Build relationships with facility staff and begin responding to service calls independently
  • 6 Months: Fully dependable, able to manage workload independently
  • 12 Months: Proactively identify facility needs and recommend process or system improvements

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to daily maintenance requests and work orders from staff
  • Perform general maintenance including:
    • Electrical (secondary systems)
    • Plumbing
    • Painting
    • Hardware repairs
  • Complete both scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including:
    • Plumbing, HVAC/air systems, and electrical systems
  • Maintain, inspect, and repair equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct routine building and grounds inspections
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities
  • Recommend improvements to facility systems to support patient care needs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant maintenance experience
  • General knowledge of:
    • Electrical secondary systems
    • Plumbing systems
    • Fire system devices
    • Air/HVAC systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license with proof of insurance may be required
  • Knowledge of healthcare building codes preferred
