
Cloud Engineer
Job Description
What you will do
- Lead and support delivery teams across cloud development, cloud architecture, systems engineering, cloud security, DevSecOps engineering and operations, and Agile methodologies
- Serve as a technical liaison between the customer and the engineering team, translating mission needs into clear technical requirements and implementation plans
- Act as the technical point of contact for cloud engineering stakeholders, aligning expectations and communicating risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs
- Plan, execute, and close projects to meet customer objectives, timelines, and quality expectations
- Define and track delivery health metrics and project KPIs; provide routine reporting to government leadership and internal management
- Design, implement, and maintain tooling and infrastructure to support modern development, testing, automation, and deployment
- Establish and continuously improve DevSecOps processes across development, test, release, deployment, update, and support activities
- Select, implement, and optimize CI/CD tools and pipelines to enable repeatable and secure delivery
- Perform technical reviews to validate software quality, supportability, and alignment with standards (including code and automation artifacts)
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack, resolve defects, and drive root cause analysis for recurring problems
- Promote automation-first practices to reduce manual work and improve speed, reliability, and consistency
- Integrate security throughout the lifecycle by enabling continuous vulnerability assessment, risk management, and secure engineering controls
- Support incident management activities and coordinate remediation across internal teams and customer stakeholders
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with distributed teams and customers (internal and external) throughout the delivery lifecycle
What you need to have
Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 5 years of experience; Master's Degree and 0 to 3 years of experience; 8 to 10 years with no degree
- Clearance: Must maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance
- Cloud: Foundational experience with AWS, including core services and
- Architecture: Foundational understanding of cloud architecture and design patterns
- Cloud computing: Foundational knowledge of cloud computing principles and delivery models
- Experience providing technical leadership in at least one of the following: cloud engineering, DevSecOps, platform engineering, or cloud security
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate customer requirements into actionable technical work
- Experience implementing or operating CI/CD pipelines and modern development toolchains
- Ability to work across teams to plan work, manage priorities, and deliver outcomes in an Agile environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
What we'd like you to have
- CompTIA Security+
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect (or comparable certification in Azure or GCP)
- Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab and/or Jenkins (certifications or formal training preferred)
- ITIL certification
- Experience supporting intelligence or national security missions in a secure environment
