🍽️ Sous Chef – $23.30/hr+ | Sandy Cove Ministries | Maryland, USA

Location: Maryland, near the Chesapeake Bay
Starting Pay: $23.30/hour (with potential increase based on performance)
Position Type: Full-time | Non-Exempt
Reports To: Executive Chef

🧑‍🍳 Position Overview:

Sandy Cove Ministries is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to help lead the kitchen team, ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation, and contribute to an outstanding dining experience for guests.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff

  • Plan and prepare weekly and special event menus

  • Order food and supplies on a weekly basis

  • Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality

  • Cook meals and accommodate special dietary requests

  • Oversee dining room service

  • Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards

  • Participate in scheduling, inventory, and day-to-day operations

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in food service leadership

  • Culinary certificate or equivalent kitchen experience

  • SERV Safe or similar food handling certification

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, and under pressure

  • Basic technology and organizational skills
