PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Customs Coordinator in Czeladź, Poland on a 2-year contract reporting to Group Customs Manager. JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating and supervising customs clearance and international trade operations, including the preparation and verification of import/export documentation, compliance with customs and tax regulations, and coordination with logistics partners, customs authorities, and internal departments. Ensures efficient execution of transport, delivery, and customs processes while maintaining accuracy, regulatory compliance, and smooth cross-functional collaboration across the supply chain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, verify, and manage customs, transport, and international trade documentation
- Audit of customs documentation and process
- Coordinate customs clearance processes and cooperate with customs agencies
- Liaise with freight forwarders, courier companies, and transport providers
- Ensure compliance with customs, tax, and international trade regulations
- Apply Incoterms in import/export operations
- Coordinate import, export, and transit activities across departments
- Work closely with warehouse, accounting, sales, and delivery planning teams
- Monitor regulatory changes related to customs and taxation
- Maintain accurate logistics and customs records and declarations
- Support transportation and delivery coordination for customer orders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and external partners
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of customs documentation
- Perform additional operational and administrative tasks as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in customs clearance, import/export, or logistics operations
- Good command of English (written and spoken) preferred
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, international trade regulations, and tax compliance
- Practical knowledge of Incoterms
- Experience preparing and verifying customs and transport documentation
- Experience cooperating with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and courier companies
- Proficiency in ERP, customs, or logistics management systems
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
