Senior Platform EngineerJob Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the underlying infrastructure and platforms both on premise and in the cloud
that support software applications and services. Creates scalable, reliable, and efficient systems, automates deployment
processes, and collaborates with Development Operations (DevOps) teams to ensure alignment with business goals. Monitors
and optimizes platform functionality and performance to ensure seamless operation and integration with business processes.

• Design and implement scalable and secure platform solutions to meet enterprise requirements.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code for efficient provisioning and deployment.
• Monitor platform performance and resolve complex technical issues to ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate platform services into applications.
• Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance standards across all platform components.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed and operational efficiency.
• Document platform architecture, configurations, and operational procedures for governance and audits.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance platform capabilities.

responsibility for communicating with parties external to IS&T and Jefferson, which may include customers or vendors.

procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education - Required
• High School Diploma/GED
Education - Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Experience - Required
• 5 years related work experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Required
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for designing and managing enterprise
infrastructure.
• Expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for scalable deployments.
• Ability to implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform or Ansible for automated provisioning.
• Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab for continuous integration and delivery.
• Advanced scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and system management.
