Senior QA Automation Engineer
Lamina, a West Monroe Company – Costa Rica
Lamina, a West Monroe company, is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our growing product engineering team. This is a highly hands-on role for an experienced automation engineer who thrives in agile product environments and has deep expertise in Cypress and Playwright.
In this role, you will partner closely with developers, product managers, and QA team members to design, build, and maintain scalable automated testing solutions that ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Cypress and Playwright
- Write and execute automated UI, API, regression, integration, and performance tests
- Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to define and implement QA strategies
- Identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and drive quality improvements throughout the SDLC
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Validate REST APIs and backend services
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test execution reports
- Support continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and automation standards
- Mentor junior QA team members and promote automation best practices
Requirements
Technical Skills
- 5+ years of QA Automation experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Cypress and Playwright
- Strong scripting experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
- Experience building and maintaining scalable automation frameworks
- Experience testing REST APIs
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with tools such as qTest, TestRail, jMeter, and jUnit
- Understanding of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
- Knowledge of unit vs. integration testing methodologies
