Business Context

Employee Compensation and Benefits play a critical role in attracting and retaining key talents, which is the core foundation of the success of the House. The business environment for luxury companies is changing rapidly with the rise of digital solutions and new generational characteristics and it is essential for the House to be equipped with the right Rewards policies and practices while constantly provided with timely data analytics in order to make informed decisions on employees’ Rewards.

About the Role

The role is responsible for designing and managing innovative Rewards programs, and contributing to and implementing Rewards strategies for CHANEL Korea that serve the CHANEL difference.  

As a Reward Manager, you will be leading CHANEL Korea’s overall compensation and benefits policy development and maintenance. Together with the cooperation from various local P&O teams including HR Business Partners and HR Operations, the role will play a critical role in terms of governing the overall Rewards programs in line with the regional and global guidelines.

You will also play a pivotal role in making sure various compensation and benefit elements remain both externally competitive and internally fair, as well as compliant with the local labor laws and regulations.

You will have the primary responsibility to design, review, validate and monitor Retail Compensation policies including but not limited to Retail Pay-mix, Retail Performance Management framework, Sales Incentive schemes and Promotion/Appointments.

As a member of the Regional Rewards community, you will be actively involved in various regional projects on a regular basis. This includes, but not limited to, regional benefits review, rewards governance model, WorkDay projects and so on.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Rewards Programs / Solutions

  • Support the design and review of the reward programs in close partnership with internal and external experts of various areas such as compensation, benefits, and mobility
  • Support various business divisions from rewards perspective in alignment with the overall compensation and benefit philosophy. Provide analysis on plan effectiveness
  • Lead regular Retail Compensation and Sales Incentive plans review and propose changes as appropriate
  • Conduct regular and insightful analysis on the pay competitiveness against comparable market and industry
  • Advise market P&O teams and business managers regarding rewards programs and offer proposals
  • Provide analysis and market intelligence supporting union negotiation process / cycles in close partnership with market P&O, employee relations team and business HR
  • Support the implementation of competitive benefits and wellness programs with selected vendors and in close partnership with Benefits/Wellness expert

Job Architecture and Job Evaluation

  • Conduct job evaluation in close partnership with Comp expert, market P&O and business managers
  • Manage job evaluation records and conduct annual review on job grades
  • Advise appropriate Job Profiles and benchmark proposal for new and/or evolved positions

Annual Compensation & Benefits Review Process Management

  • Manage Annual Compensation Review (ACR) cycles
  • Collect and analyze market trends on merit increase and macro economic data in order to prepare merit increase proposal
  • Provide rewards related budgetary advice to market P&O and Finance as necessary
  • Develop, maintain and execute manager trainings for ACR
  • Conduct annual benefits review to ensure competitiveness of benefits provisions
  • Participate in annual salary and benefits surveys, manage data submission, analyze results and recommend appropriate market adjustments as necessary

Other Rewards Related Projects

  • Manage and partner with service providers to ensure professional and cost effective service delivery
  • Keep abreast of emerging market trend and network with industry peers
  • Manage other rewards projects as assigned

Key Requirements:

Academic / Professional Qualifications / Language

  • University degree or higher, major in HR, Business Administration or related disciplines
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Fluency in Korean is a plus

Work Experience & Required Competencies

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with specialized expertise in rewards management, preferably in multinational organizations, retail business or companies in innovative industries
  • Strong experience leading and implementing rewards projects. Well versed with local employment law
  • Working knowledge on designing sales incentive plans and expatriate compensation management is essential
  • Good knowledge on job evaluation methodology
  • Good interpersonal skills to engage professionally with different levels of stakeholders for close work partnership locally and regionally
