As an Investment Banking Analyst in the Taiwan Coverage team, you will develop strong relationships with corporate and financial institution clients and work across products. You will support transactions across the full spectrum of investment banking activities, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets, divestitures, restructurings, and loans.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support senior bankers in originating, structuring, and executing financing and advisory transactions across various products including M&As, equity and debt capital markets, private placements, block trades, etc.
- Prepare and develop contents in pitch / marketing and execution materials to support client engagement and deal delivery.
- Build financial models and perform detailed valuation analyses for pitches and live transactions.
- Work with internal deal team members and senior bankers to execute transactions, including identify and manage key risks via conducting due diligence.
- Liaising with internal and external parties (e.g., legal counsel, accountants, other counterparties) on various deliverables throughout the transaction process.
- Support client meetings and transaction workstreams, including Q&A management, due diligence coordination, and preparation for management presentations and interviews.
- Conduct research on the Taiwan market, including industry trends, company outlook, and relevant regulatory and compliance considerations.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the team’s daily workflow by anticipating needs and coordinating across internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, or a related field from a top-tier educational institution.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in investment banking, equity research, or other relevant roles within the finance sector.
- Strong accounting, finance, modeling, quantitative, and business writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong understanding of transaction lifecycles with
;execution-oriented and detail-focused mind to navigate through the steps on the process. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior professionals, clients, and stakeholders across lines of business.
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Prior investment banking experience in M&A, Equity / Debt Capital Markets, or industry group
- Strong understanding of accounting and relevant regulatory / legal framework is highly preferred
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills (including Excel modelling and valuation analysis)
