Position Overview
As a Project Manager – Transmission Line Construction, you will lead the execution of transmission line projects or key phases of large, complex programs.
You will be accountable for all aspects of project success—from bid development and planning through execution and closeout—ensuring strong safety performance, client satisfaction, and financial results.
This role requires a proactive, organized leader who can effectively manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from proposal and bidding through execution and closeout
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities
- Review project plans and contracts to define scope, schedule, staffing, and resource requirements
- Manage project performance, including schedule adherence, cost control, and risk management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project partners
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters, including changes and issue resolution
- Collaborate with field leadership to coordinate construction activities and ensure efficient execution
- Develop and manage project work plans, assigning responsibilities and driving accountability
- Review project status reports and adjust schedules or plans as needed
- Prepare and present reports to leadership, clients, and stakeholders
- Coordinate compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications
- Lead or support bid development, RFP responses, and estimating efforts as needed
- Resolve project challenges proactively and escalate issues when appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes?
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7+ years of project management experience, preferably in transmission line, utility, or heavy civil construction
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or phases of larger projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of contracts, scheduling, and cost control
- Experience with project management software (Primavera, HCSS, or similar preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel and support long-term, project-based assignments
