About the role
Provides technical support across all areas of the organization for wind and PV projects, reporting directly to the PMO Lead & Wind Technical Manager. The role supports the development, design, optimization, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects, contributing to technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage development and pre-construction to construction and O&M phases.
Key Responsabilities
Provide support in the project development and acquisition processes across all technical disciplines, including electrical, civil, mechanical, and energy yield assessment.
Support technical due diligence activities and manage external consultants.
Perform energy yield assessments using industry-standard simulation tools. Advanced proficiency in Windnavigator (wind) and PVSyst (PV) is required. Familiarity with WindPRO, WAsP, and PVCase is desirable.
Collaborate in technical project development activities, including conceptual and basic engineering, layout design, SLD development, equipment selection, and civil works based on WTG and PV equipment technical specifications.
Optimize project layouts to maximize energy yield and project value.
Prepare high-level CAPEX estimates and provide technical assumptions and inputs for financial models, supporting project evaluation, development, and acquisition activities.
Engage with OEMs, EPC contractor, and technology vendors to assess technical solutions, obtain budgetary quotations, benchmark costs, and support technology selection processes.
Continuously monitor industry developments, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions across wind, PV, storage, and hybrid renewable energy projects, identifying opportunities to enhance project performance and competitiveness.
Support the implementation and adoption of digital, data analytics, and AI-based solutions to improve project evaluation, technical due diligence, design optimization, and engineering workflows.
Prepare Technical Specifications, Employer's Requirements, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other technical documentation.
Interact and support construction and business areas and serve as the technical focal point within the area of expertise.
Coordinate and conduct site visits to support site evaluation.
Perform, in collaboration with other functions, analyses related to curtailment, WTG and PV module performance, project risks, and other technical matters.
Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent.
Strong background in the renewable energy industry, particularly in wind and PV projects, with a proven track record and at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of wind turbine generator (WTG) and photovoltaic (PV) technologies, including key components, system architectures, equipment selection, and current industry trends and best practices.
Knowledge of wind and solar resource assessment methodologies, measurement campaigns, resource modeling tools, energy yield analysis, wind farm micrositing, PV plant layout optimization, and the factors affecting plant performance, supported by practical experience in these areas.
Proficiency in Windnavigator and PVSyst. Experience with WindPRO, WAsP, and PVCase is desirable.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, QGIS, Google Earth, and Microsoft Office.
Programming skills in Python for data analysis, automation, and engineering applications are desirable.
Understanding of wind farm and PV plant execution models, including EPC, BoP, equipment supply, and O&M agreements. Experience in the preparation and negotiation of technical specifications, contracts, and technical annexes.
Good communication and collaboration skills, strategic mindset, results-oriented approach.
Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
Proactive, flexible, and able to prioritize effectively.
Excellent ability to anticipate challenges and proactively identify practical solutions.
Balance technical detail with commercial needs and provide recommendations, considering all relevant risks.
Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence tools and awareness of their application in business environments, with a focus on process optimization and decision-making.
Driving license (B).
Fluent English is a must (C1).
