DSI Security Services is seeking a reliable and vigilant Part-Time Security Officer to join our team at a secured port facility in Jersey City, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while providing excellent customer service to visitors, drivers, contractors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or unusual activity.
- Verify employee, visitor, and truck driver credentials entering the facility.
- Maintain access control procedures and enforce port security policies.
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents while following proper safety and security protocols.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to all employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Maintain accurate and detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities.
- Assist in enforcing company and client policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, port authorities, and emergency personnel when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work outdoors and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Previous experience in access control, logistics, warehouse, or port security preferred.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must pass all pre-employment screenings.
- Valid SORA License required.
- Port Access Card required
- Must be able to obtain Port Access Credentials.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
Work Schedule
This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling available. Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday availability is preferred.
