We are looking for a driven and strategic Retail Sales Manager to lead our Construction Industries (CI) sales team and accelerate growth across our Building Construction Products (BCP) market.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on growing market share, developing top-performing sales talent, and driving profitable equipment sales.
What You’ll Do as a Retail Sales Manager
Lead & Develop a High-Performing Sales Team
Coach, mentor, and develop Retail Sales Representatives to achieve sales goals
Conduct ride-alongs, performance reviews, and ongoing training
Recruit and onboard top sales talent
Support team on key deals and strategic accounts
Drive Market Growth & Strategy
Execute sales strategies aligned with Mustang Cat’s Strategic Business Plan
Identify new business opportunities and expand market share in CI/BCP segments
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand
Partner with leadership on pricing and go-to-market strategies
Build Strong Customer Relationships
Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts
Ensure exceptional customer experience and responsiveness
Support solutions selling across equipment, technology, and services
Manage Financial Performance
Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and performance targets
Analyze financial reports and sales metrics
Ensure profitability while maintaining competitive pricing
Oversee Inventory & Product Strategy
Collaborate with inventory and product support teams
Manage aging inventory and drive equipment turnover
Support product launches and marketing campaigns
Collaborate Across the Organization
Partner with Service, Rental, Product Support Sales, and Marketing teams
Deliver full-service equipment solutions to customers
Support company-wide initiatives and growth strategies
Reporting & CRM Management
Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecasting
Ensure CRM system is updated with opportunities and customer data
Provide monthly reporting and market insights
Required Qualifications
Proven leadership experience managing a sales team
Strong financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, P&L understanding)
Experience in construction equipment or heavy machinery sales
Ability to drive revenue growth and market expansion
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Strong organizational and strategic planning skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Science, or related field
10+ years of sales experience in construction equipment, including leadership
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
