BIM Technician-Electrical

Job Description

To work as part of our Services Team to provide CAD/BIM support to engineering projects. The successful candidate’s role will be as an MEP Revit Modeler within the WSP in India in our Noida, Bengaluru office producing BIM models and detailed engineering designs and construction drawings. You can expect to be active on a number of projects at any given time. You will report to Team Leader in Project functionally and reporting to Line manager operationally.

  • Prepare MEP 3D Revit Model in LOD-350/400

  • Coordinate models with other MEP services, Architectural, Civil and Structural model.

  • Clash detection and clash resolution

  • 2D drawings production

  • Provide specialist support to design teams preparing analysis and design models

  • Support design teams and bid teams with the creation of 3D visualisations / 4D models / renderings 

  • Prepare quantities for use in BQs from the 3D model.

  • Familiarity with COBie stands and BIM classification systems (e.g. Uniclass, OmniClass) is preferred

  • Manage model versions, data exchange, and issue tracking within the Common Data Environment (CDE), such as BIM360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) 

Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications

  • Revit

  • AutoCAD (2D and 3D)

  • Civil3D

  • Navisworks

  • Dynamo script

  • Knowledge of Electrical systems in MEP

  • Recap

  • Photoshop

Experience in the use of the following software is desirable but not essential:

  • Autodesk 3ds MAX

  • MS Excel

  • MS Word

  • Dynamo

  • Diploma in Electrical engineering is preferred in addition to Draughting qualifications.

  • 4+ year's production experience in design, drafting and engineering with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record

The candidate must:

  • Have good English communication skills.

  • Ability to access the time requirement for completion of the task.

  • Be able to work closely with colleagues at a senior level.

  • Be computer literate.

  • Have a valid passport and be prepared to be seconded for up to 3 months as projects dictate (base will be Bangalore/Noida).

  • Ability to plan and manage his/her workload

  • Lateral thinking and knowledge in other MEP services.

  • Ability to understand own limitations and limitations of the software being used
