Southern Miss School of Polymer Science and Engineering

The School of Polymer Science and Engineering (SPSE) is home to ~90 undergraduate and ~70 graduate students; it offers polymer science and engineering degrees at the B.S. (ABET accredited), M.S., and Ph.D. levels.

Our internationally recognized faculty lead active research programs in sustainable polymers, composites, biomaterials and bioinspired polymers, materials for energy, optoelectronics, and coatings and thin films with external funding totaling ~$50M over the past five years.

SPSE offers state-of-the-art facilities for polymer-related research. Core Strength: Polymer synthesis and macromolecular design using a “molecules to materials” approach.
