Shipping & Pack Hi-Lo Driver Canton, 1st shift
Core hours 6:00 AM to 2:15 PM Monday through Friday ( with opportunities for overtime)
Starting Pay: $17.00 hour
Experience Required: 1+ Year operating Hi-Lo/Forklift
Assist in loading, unloading, and staging of finished material being shipped to Gil-Mar customers.
Department: Shipping & Receiving
Reports to: Customer Delivery/ Logistics Manager
Back up: Gatekeeper
Principle Duties and Accountabilities including, but not limited to:
- Each morning completes the Lift Truck Operators Daily Inspection Report
- Provide Material Handling to PACK Team Prep/Stage/Warehouse Allocation of Finished Goods
- Stage finished material to be shipped the current and or next.
- Load and or unload incoming trucks.
- Verify outgoing loads using the pick sheet procedure,
- Assist in scanning of the outgoing material.
- Count and verify incoming dunnage.
- Banding and loading of baskets.
- Maintain a clean and orderly yard.
- Perform basic Material Handing duties.
- Counts units and checks product identity according to pick list.
- Packs products in boxes or cartons, following prescribed procedures to ensure safe transportation including adding bubble-wrap and cardboard.
- Tapes all cartons to ensure product remains secure during transport.
- Lifts large, packaged products on to cribs for transport.
- May apply labels or other identification as directed.
- Responsible for error free production while maintaining a high efficiency.
- Responsible for following documented procedures as well as producing and ensuring product meets or exceeds established product specifications.
- Sort pick orders based on priority, type, and schedule to ensure all orders are completed on time.
- Working with a team, locate and pick error-free orders as scheduled.
- When picks are complete, transport to staging area.
- Responsible for following documented procedures as well as producing and ensuring product meets or exceeds established product specifications.
- Perform Ship/Receive transactions properly to ensure inventory accuracy.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements
Must be able to bend easily at the waist.
Must be able to read a tape measure accurately
Must be able to read / follow work instructions. Must be able to demonstrate basic math skills
Must have demonstrated excellent attendance
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to use small hand tools, including knives, hammers, screw drivers, etc.
Must be able to read and interpret packing labels
Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions.
Industrial Plant setting. Continuous exposure to noise. Safety protection is required. Must wear safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection at all times. Must strive for continuous improvement. Overtime is required.
