Description
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Foundation Learning programmes.
- Support learners with SEND, including those with EHCPs, social, emotional and mental health needs, and complex learning difficulties.
- Deliver a range of programmes including functional skills, employability, independence and vocational learning.
- Support learners in building portfolios of evidence and achieving learning outcomes in line with awarding body and RARPA requirements.
- Develop inclusive teaching strategies and support systems to meet diverse learner needs.
- Maintain accurate learner records and administrative documentation using College systems, including ProMonitor.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, employers and partner organisations to support learner progression and preparation for adulthood.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- English and Maths GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above.
- Experience working with learners with SEND within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of RARPA, entry level and Level 1 qualifications.
- Experience supporting learners with EHCPs and additional learning needs.
- Knowledge of preparation for adulthood and employability within a SEND curriculum.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

- PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)

- TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
