Job Description
The Enterprise IT Services Team at Aptiv supports the organization by enabling strategic change, operational excellence, and value‑driven technology investment across the enterprise.
As IT Demand Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping, governing, and prioritizing the flow of IT and business demand into Enterprise IT Portfolio. You will act as a partner to business relationship managers, portfolios leads and IT leaders, ensuring that technology investment decisions are transparent, aligned to enterprise strategy, realistic within capacity constraints, and focused on delivering measurable business outcomes.
You will own the end‑to‑end demand lifecycle, from intake and shaping through prioritisation, approval, and transition into delivery, working closely with Strategy, Architecture, Finance, PMO, and Delivery teams.
You will report directly to the Head of Enterprise IT PMO.
What your role will look like
Own and operate the Enterprise IT demand management process, acting as the single point of accountability for intake, assessment, prioritisation, and governance of demand.
Partner with stakeholders to shape demand, ensuring all initiatives have clear objectives, value statements, success measures, and business ownership.
Support the development and ongoing refinement of the Enterprise IT demand and investment roadmap, aligning initiatives to business strategy, transformation priorities, regulatory commitments, and architectural direction.
Facilitate demand prioritisation and investment decision forums, providing fact-based insights, trade-off analysis, and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
Maintain a single, transparent enterprise demand pipeline, providing clear visibility of status, sequencing, dependencies, and constraints.
Work closely with PMO, Portfolio Management, Architecture, and Delivery teams to balance demand against delivery capacity, funding, and change saturation.
Assess demand feasibility, ensuring realism around scope, timelines, resourcing, and delivery models before approval.
Establish and maintain demand governance routines, reporting cycles, and decision artefacts in line with Aptiv PMO and portfolio standards.
Support business case development, ROM estimation, and financial analysis in collaboration with Finance and Delivery teams.
Ensure robust handover of approved demand into delivery, confirming readiness, ownership, and alignment to governance expectations.
Maintain and report on demand-level risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, escalating constraints or conflicts early.
Provide clear, concise, and insightful executive-level reporting on health demand, trends, bottlenecks, and portfolio impacts.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Graduate or post-graduate qualification in IT, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
Professional certification in portfolio, project, or agile delivery (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Lean Portfolio Management, ITIL, or equivalent).
8–12+ years’ experience in IT demand management, portfolio management, PMO, IT strategy, or enterprise change roles.
Proven experience operating in large, complex, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Strong understanding of IT delivery models, enterprise architecture principles, and modern technology landscapes (cloud, applications, data, cybersecurity).
Demonstrated experience influencing senior stakeholders and facilitating executive-level decision forums.
Strong financial acumen, including experience with business cases, investment prioritisation, and capacity-based planning.
Experience working with managed service providers or external delivery partners is desirable.
What you’ll bring
Be Strategic: Able to understand business strategy and translate it into a clear, prioritised and deliverable IT demand pipeline.
Be a Trusted Partner: Build strong, credible relationships with business and IT leaders, acting as a pragmatic advisor rather than a gatekeeper.

Be Influential: Confidently challenge assumptions, surface trade-offs, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
Be Analytical: Use data, insight, and structured assessment to support prioritisation and investment decisions.
Be Proactive: Anticipate constraints, capacity risks, and conflicts early, proposing options before issues escalate.
Be Outcome Focused: Maintain a strong focus on business value, not just intake volume or activity.
Be Organized: Bring structure, clarity, and consistency to complex, high-volume demand environments.
Be Adaptable: Comfortable operating amid ambiguity, evolving priorities, and changing strategies.
Be Transparent: Communicate openly and clearly, enabling trust and informed decision-making.
Leadership Competencies
Executive Presence: Able to communicate clearly and confidently with senior leaders and governance bodies.
Strategic Insight with Operational Discipline: Balance enterprise-level thinking with rigorous execution of demand processes.
Resilience: Maintain focus and effectiveness in a high-pressure, high-change environment.
Collaborative Leadership: Foster alignment and “one-team” ways of working across Business, IT, and external partners.
