POSITION PURPOSE
Administrative Assistant II position supporting Trinity Health's Detroit Health Ministry (DHM) located at the Samaritan Center, Detroit.
This Administrative Assistant role is based at the Samaritan Center and supports operations across the broader market. Standard work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted. The position provides direct administrative support to the Executive Director of the market and the Medical Director, while also facilitating coordination with the Trinity Health Detroit Board, including engagement with the President and their executive assistant. In addition, this role plays a key part in supporting daily administrative office functions, such as ordering supplies, preparing materials for meetings, and organizing team-building events, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across the organization.
Full-Time position scheduled 40 hours per week MTWF 8:30am-5pm. Position is fully-onsite.
The compensation range for this position starts at $18.83 per hour (entry rate), with a midpoint of $22.60 and a maximum of $25.00 per hour; placement within the range is determined based on years of verified experience in a similar role.
This division was established as a continuing ministry of Trinity Health Michigan and serves the primary care needs of both uninsured and underinsured adults in Michigan by providing primary care, limited diagnostic testing and imaging, transportation and pharmaceuticals. The DHM strives to eliminate the barriers to access to care that many individuals face. In addition, the DHM arranges for specialty care through relationships with specialists and partnerships with other organizations.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional formal clerical and computer training preferred.
Experience: Familiarity with secretarial support procedures, usually gained through three or more years of progressively responsible administrative office experience
Certification/Licensure: Not required
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Composes, types and edits correspondence, reports, minutes and materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity and confidentiality.
Organizes office workflow and handles routine administrative matters independently.
Maintains record-keeping and filing systems, including sensitive personnel, payroll and operational data.
Gathers, analyzes and prepares reports and data summaries; maintains databases for reporting and quality purposes.
Coordinates meetings, calendars and travel; prepares materials and records minutes.
Tracks budgets and expenditures; identifies discrepancies and supports financial reporting.
Screens and manages correspondence, calls and visitors; routes information appropriately.
Communicates with internal and external contacts, including leadership, to exchange information and coordinate activities.
Orders supplies and supports office operations, equipment and organization.
Trains and supports clerical staff; may coordinate and review their work.
