The Mountain Bike Supervisor is responsible for enhancing Blackberry’s biking program through guest interaction and by providing 5-star service to all guests. The supervisor will act as a guide as well as assist the Adventure Manager with supervisory duties when needed.
Pay Range: $20.00 per hour. Starting compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned:
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and schedule
- Perform certain duties such as contacting staff, training staff, responding to email requests, and communicating across relevant departments
- Assist the manager in monitoring the schedule and guiding operations
Mountain Biking guide trips
- Guide guests on a 5-star cycling experience
- Provide coaching and leadership to guests by choosing routes, navigating unfamiliar trails, making equipment selections and fit, demonstrating basic technique for novices, and safely completing a tailored ride based on the guest's expectations.
Mountain bike maintenance
- Maintain cycling areas by keeping work spaces clean and organized
- Oversee the maintenance and repairs of both the mountain bike fleet and the trails, coordinating with other departments and vendors when needed.
Guest Relations
·Assist guests with cycling knowledge
- Answer general questions regarding the sport
- Provide guests with information regarding Blackberry interests, activities, and trail systems
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.
Must have the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be able to communicate with guests, team members, and managers effectively
- Must interact extensively with guests
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic knowledge and understanding of math
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to resolve any issues regarding guests concerning the cycling program
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
- Must be able to assess current conditions to provide a safe and quality experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to be on feet most or all of the shift
- Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions including streams and ponds,
- 4,200 acres of Blackberry Farm property, 5,500 acres of Blackberry Mountain property, and surrounding areas including Knoxville and Townsend biking trail systems
