Work term: Fall/Winter (September to April)

 

Work term length: 8 month (preferred)

What can you expect in this role? 

 

In this role, you’ll be part of a dynamic team supporting the transformation and operational effectiveness of Commercial Insurance. You’ll gain hands-on experience in change management, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and communications while contributing to key business initiatives.

You will support efforts to enhance operations across head office and regional teams by analyzing reports, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping implement solutions. You’ll also collaborate with business and IT partners to help prioritize initiatives, align on objectives, and ensure timely delivery with high-quality outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support in planning and executing change management strategies for Commercial Insurance projects, including product, pricing, system, and process enhancements

  • Collaborate with team members to create engaging written and visual communications

  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop, refine, and publish communications to our employees across Canada - May include both written and video communications.

  • Participate in working sessions and interviews to understand the degree of change the business and our staff will experience as we prepare to implement enhancements to our products, pricing, systems, processes, and training

  • Support the training team in designing and developing training experiences and supporting materials for underwriting staff across Canada

  • Participate in planning, producing and hosting training sessions, including opportunities to facilitate portions of training sessions as they arise

  • Track deliverables, timelines, and dependencies across multiple initiatives using tools like Excel and SharePoint

  • Gain experience developing e-learning materials, and the creation of assessments with support and input from insurance subject matter experts

  • Assist with coordination and logistics around mass email distribution and document sharing via Microsoft SharePoint

  • Supports the requirements gathering discussions on commercial initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned

 

What you bring

    • Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Business Administration, Commerce, Communications, English, Education, or other related industry programs

    • Great attention to detail, proactive and responsive to short deadlines

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Forms, etc.)

    • Interest in the insurance industry, as well as project coordination, communications, change management and training

The hourly compensation for the role starts at $22.50 per hour and will increase based on factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, and the recommended rates as set by the respective educational institution.
