As Portfolio Manager, you shape and drive our business pipeline by identifying market potential and turning opportunities into success. You are responsible for developing compelling proposals, including staffing concepts, while nurturing strong relationships with existing customers to grow the business sustainably. Through targeted initiatives, you enhance our market visibility and open doors to new customers and segments. At the same time, you actively foster a site‑support mindset, inspiring a culture where everyone contributes to business development and sales success.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- Customer Orientation: Acting as a trusted advisor at site level, developing a strong understanding of customer needs and translating them into clear account plans, targets, and aligned solutions while staying engaged throughout delivery and feedback cycles
- Sales: Driving revenue, growth, and profitability; leading proposal development, supporting final negotiations, challenging framework agreements where appropriate, and ensuring accurate CRM documentation
- Business Development: Identifying and developing new customers and business opportunities, increasing market visibility, and proactively positioning Exyte through targeted outreach and cold‑acquisition activities
- Networking: Building strong internal networks across Exyte to identify new leads, capture market insights, and maintain close connections with project teams and employees
- Project Execution: Managing selected smaller or strategic projects as Project Manager, ensuring direct customer interaction and the consistent application of approved project management methodologies
Show your expertise
- 5–10 years of relevant professional experience in a commercial or technical environment
- Degree at B.Sc. or M.Sc. level in a technical field, or M.Sc. in a commercial or business‑related field
- Several years of experience in sales, preferably selling projects and/or services, ideally within an engineering context or the Life Science industry
- Proven experience in account management and customer relationship development
- A self‑starter personality with an energetic, result‑oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
- A passionate team player who actively contributes to shared success and supports colleagues
