Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring an ED Tech in our Free Standing Emergency Department. This is a Part Time, Day shift in Charlottesville, VA.
Hours 7AM to 7PM with rotating weekends.
The Free-Standing Emergency Room is a 13-bed facility seeing about 60 patients a day with a physician and PA on staff as well as additional support including ED Techs. This well supported department is centered around teamwork and patient- first mindset. In an emergency, quick access to skilled care makes all the difference. That's why Sentara offers access to emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our management team has been long standing and diligent about building a cohesive and dedicated care team to serve the Charlottesville, VA area.
About the role:
This position's primary responsibilities include lab draws, EKGs, and assisting the nurses and doctors with patient care. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients
Education:
High School or GED Equivalent
Certification:
1. EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
2. Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR
3. Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.
BLS within 90 days of hire
De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
Experience:
Previous healthcare experience preferred
