About the Role
As Finance Manager, you play a key role in ensuring financial oversight, compliance alignment, and effective coordination across the Business Unit. You support accurate and timely financial reporting in line with IQVIA SOPs, US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and local statutory and tax requirements, in close collaboration with Global Finance Shared Services (GFSS) and other global teams. You act as a key business partner to local and global stakeholders, ensuring that financial processes, outputs, and decisions are aligned with regulatory requirements and business needs. While core transactional accounting, reporting, and compliance activities are delivered by GFSS, this role ensures strong local oversight, coordination, and stakeholder alignment.
What you will do
Financial control, reporting & compliance
- Provide local oversight of financial reporting delivered by GFSS, focusing on alignment with local statutory and tax requirements and escalating any discrepancies or issues.
- Review monthly close and statutory reporting outputs delivered by GFSS, challenging and escalating issues as needed to ensure compliance with local statutory and tax requirements.
Business partnering & insight
- Act as a trusted finance partner to local, regional, and global finance teams, as well as operational stakeholders, providing clear guidance on statutory, accounting, and tax implications.
- Highlight financial risks, compliance exposures, and accounting impacts, ensuring informed decision-making aligned with regulatory and governance requirements.
Governance, systems & process improvement
- Act as the local point of expertise on statutory requirements, tax, and internal policies, interpreting US GAAP principles and aligning them with local regulations and business practices.
- Contribute to improvements in finance processes and controls by providing local input, highlighting risks and inconsistencies, and supporting alignment across GFSS, regional, and local stakeholders.
- Proactively monitor local statutory and tax developments, anticipating impacts and ensuring timely communication and alignment with GFSS, regional finance management, and business stakeholders.
Team & stakeholder management
- Align and collaborate with local and global teams, ensuring clear priorities and effective communication across stakeholders.
- Act as the key liaison between business, GFSS, and other stakeholders, facilitating communication, raising and escalating issues, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to effective ways of working across stakeholders, promoting transparency and continuous improvement.
What you bring
Experience & education
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Financial Management
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with strong technical accounting knowledge (CPA or equivalent preferred)
- Experience working in a multinational and/or complex, matrix-driven environment is a strong plus; line management experience is beneficial but not essential
Technical & analytical skills
- Solid understanding of financial systems and ERP environments (experience with PeopleSoft and/or Oracle is an advantage).
- Good knowledge of local statutory and tax regulations and US GAAP, with the ability to apply them in practice.
- Strong Excel skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to translate business questions into meaningful financial insights
- Fluent English is required, as it is used in day-to-day communication with regional and global stakeholders.
Soft skills & mindset
- Proactive and hands-on, with the ability to operate independently in a structured finance and compliance environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly explain accounting, tax, and regulatory topics.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
