CMA-Skilled Nursing PRN
 
Provide assistance and direction to residents with personal care needs and activities of daily living.  Provide medication administration assistance and coordination to residents.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
The following duties are normal for this position.  This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Obtains and records resident’s vital signs and weight.
  • Administers and documents medications given by following specifically written physicians’ orders, including oral, topical, and suppository medications, as well as eye and ear drops.
  • Reorders prescriptions and coordinates with pharmacy providers to ensure residents have ordered medications.
  • Observes, records, and reports observations such as unexpected and untoward effects from medications. 
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living.
  • Answer resident calls for assistance.
  • Assists residents to and from the dining room and activities.
  • Assists and monitors residents during dining. 
  • Assists residents with light daily housekeeping and trash removal.
  • Assists Lifestyles Coordinator with carrying out activities for residents.
QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements and Experience:
  • Current CMA certificate in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Current CPR Certification.
