About the Role:

The Manager, HR Business Partner will play a pivotal role in supporting the DE & ESPN International segment, driving organizational effectiveness and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity. Based in Shanghai, China, this role will support Integrated Marketing, Studio, and other Corporate functions, working closely with the COE teams to build a strong and efficient organization. The position requires a strategic thinker and skilled problem-solver who can lead HR initiatives that align with Disney's values and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

As a Manager, HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for leading HR strategies and initiatives that enhance organizational performance and employee engagement. You will collaborate with senior leaders, provide coaching, and ensure alignment with department goals. This role demands a subject matter expert who can solve complex problems, lead multidisciplinary projects, and inspire individual and business success.

  • Define strategies, expectations, and priorities by breaking down organizational goals into well-defined outcomes, empowering team members to achieve agreed-upon results.
  • Provide continuous coaching and feedback to fuel high performance, recognizing individual working styles and perspectives.
  • Develop self and others by supporting career aspirations and leveraging individual strengths to connect team contributions to personal motivations.

  • Drive leadership development, succession planning, and talent assessments to enhance the succession bench and build a best-in-class team.
  • Ensure positive employee experiences throughout the employee lifecycle, fostering a culture that is optimistic, collaborative, inclusive, transparent, and innovative.
  • Monitor headcount and labor costs vs AOP, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in HR strategies, talent management, employee services and organizational development.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with proficiency in Mandarin and English.
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams, driving results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HR functional aspects such as performance management, employee relations, and talent acquisition.
  • Experience in strategy development and complex business solutions.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s level HR qualification or MBA from a premier institute.
  • Experience in media, entertainment, digital, or technology industries.
  • Advanced knowledge of organizational dynamics and strategic thinking.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-functional teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
