JOB DESCRIPTION
The Housekeeper reports to the Program Manager or a designated Manager or Site Lead as directed by the Program Manager. The Housekeeper will deliver services in one of two settings: (1) Office space, (2) Field Health Unit.
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the premises. Hospitals, workers may have to wash bed frames and disinfect and sanitize equipment with germicides.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles, and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity is recognized.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or country of origin equivalent.
3 plus years in hospital and office maintenance cleaning is preferred
Previous experience in a hospital setting and or previous experience working with DoD or DoS is preferred.
House Keepers keep many types of buildings clean, orderly, and in good condition.
The work can be physically demanding and sometimes dirty and unpleasant.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean rooms, hallways, and other living or work areas
Change sheets and make hospital beds
Empty wastebaskets and take trash to disposal areas
Replenish supplies, such as soap and toilet paper
Dust and polish furniture and equipment
Sweep, wax, or polish floors using brooms, mops, or other floor-cleaning equipment
Vacuum rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture
Clean or polish windows, walls, and woodwork
Lift and move lightweight objects and equipment
Gather and empty trash and trash bins
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming them
Clean bathrooms and stock them with soap, toilet paper, and other supplies
Keep buildings secure by locking doors
Clean spills and other hazards using sponges and squeegees
Wash windows, walls, and glass
Order cleaning supplies
Make minor repairs to the building, such as changing light bulbs
Notify managers when the building needs major repairs
Assists with the managing of day to day activities and prioritizing tasks.
Operates personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software.
Complies with all applicable standards and guidelines.
Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
