Our Quality Assurance team has an exciting opportunity for a first shift Aircraft Integration Quality Engineer to join the Poway team. This person develops, modifies, documents and directs the implementation and evaluation of quality assurance programs and systems on one or more mid-size to large projects. Provides expertise and guidance in interpreting quality standards and government regulations. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing to ensure quality standards are in place. Works on moderately complex and diverse problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, documents, and directs the implementation of Quality Assurance programs on medium to large scale.
- Provides oversight and support of aircraft integration on multiple programs. Interfaces with procurement, manufacturing, engineering and program departments to resolve quality issues.
- Ability to resolve problems and implement effective corrective action.
- Provides advice and guidance in interpreting quality standards and government regulations.
- Identifies and recommends design or manufacturing changes for mechanical, electrical and electronic assemblies.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating mechanical, electrical and electronic products for acceptability.
- Recommends design, dimensional or manufacturing process changes to improve products and reduce costs.
- Leads program and process improvement activities
- Leads root cause/corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
- Experience in product development and specification interpretation. Sound background in the maintenance of an AS9100 system.
- Coordinate contract flow-down in manufacturing and quality systems for all projects.
- Interface with Customer representatives.
- Must be a team player who works effectively with others.
- Must have effective communication skills (written and verbal) and strong technical skills.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics is a requirement. Able to work extended hours as required.
- Must be well versed in the Material Review Board decision process.
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Manufacturing or quality background in aviation is preferred. Supplier Quality experience desirable. ASQ certification also desirable. FAA A&P or part 21 desirable
- Configuration management experience desirable. As Built Configuration (ABC) and ECP validation/verification is preferred.
- Produce and Maintain First Article Inspection Reports and Inspection Plans
- Other duties as assigned
