Head of Oncology Service Line
Working hours: 37.5 per week, Monday – Friday
Location: 2 Cavendish Square, London
At HCA Healthcare UK, we’re proud to be shaping the future of cancer care. As a growing organisation with an ambitious oncology strategy, we’re investing in services, people and innovation to deliver consistently high standards of care across our network. This role sits at the heart of that ambition.
As Head of Oncology Service Line, you’ll work at divisional level to lead the strategic growth and performance of our oncology and haemato oncology services. You’ll partner closely with senior clinical and operational leaders, bringing together strategy, commercial insight and clinical collaboration to support sustainable growth across HCA UK facilities.
Based at 2 Cavendish Square, you’ll spend time across our hospitals, building strong relationships with consultants and leadership teams, and ensuring our service line strategy is translated into meaningful, deliverable action.
Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. It’s this guiding vision that influences everything we do at HCA UK. From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients. You’ll be part of a wider community with a shared sense of purpose, helping to improve lives every day.
What you’ll do
You’ll lead the development and delivery of a three-year strategic growth plan for oncology services, working alongside the Service Line CEO, clinical leaders and facility CEOs to drive revenue growth, operational consistency and quality outcomes. You’ll support consultant engagement, recruitment and retention, ensuring strong clinical leadership across sites. You’ll oversee service line performance, using clinical and commercial data to inform decision making, identify opportunities and manage risk. You’ll champion innovation and best practice, supporting investment decisions, business cases and capital planning aligned to the wider divisional strategy.
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring senior experience in healthcare strategy, consulting or clinical leadership, with a strong understanding of hospital environments and complex service lines. You’ll be confident working at executive level, facilitating senior meetings and influencing across clinical and non clinical stakeholders. You’ll have a track record of delivering strategic programmes, managing change and turning plans into action. Strong analytical, communication and relationship building skills are essential, alongside the credibility to work closely with consultants and senior leaders. An advanced degree is preferred, and you’ll be comfortable using data, Excel and PowerPoint to support insight and decision making.
Where you’ll work
This role is based at 2 Cavendish Square, with regular travel to HCA Healthcare UK facilities to support collaboration, engagement and delivery across the division.
Why join HCA Healthcare UK
You’ll be joining a pioneering healthcare organisation with the scale, ambition and investment to support meaningful service line growth. We offer visibility at senior level, the opportunity to shape strategy across multiple hospitals, and the chance to work alongside highly regarded clinical leaders. We’re committed to supporting your growth, recognising your impact and fostering a culture built on collaboration, compassion and shared purpose.
If you’re motivated by building sustainable oncology services and want the scope to influence care at scale, we’d welcome your application.
