Job Description

As a Manager – Fabric Reporting Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions built on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. This role represents the evolution of the traditional Power BI Architect, with a Fabric-first focus across OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, and semantic models in Power BI. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients while providing delivery leadership and technical governance across engagements. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Own Fabric-first reporting architecture across client engagements, ensuring scalable, performant, and governed analytics. 

  • Design and review end-to-end reporting solutions using Microsoft Fabric components and Power BI semantic models. 

  • Define modern reporting architectures that replace or enhance legacy Power BI and enterprise BI platforms. 

  • Lead and mentor reporting and analytics delivery teams, providing architectural oversight and delivery assurance. 

  • Partner with client stakeholders to shape reporting strategy, analytics roadmaps, and operating models. 

  • Collaborate with data engineering teams on ingestion, transformation, modeling, and refresh patterns supporting reporting use cases. 

  • Support pre-sales activities including solution shaping, architecture definition, and estimations for Fabric and Power BI opportunities. 

  • Establish and promote best practices for Power BI and Fabric reporting, including semantic modeling, performance tuning, governance, and cost optimization.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. A minimum of 8+ years of experience in reporting, analytics, or business intelligence roles, including experience as a Power BI Architect or reporting lead.

  • Hands-on experience designing enterprise reporting solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

  • Strong expertise in Power BI architecture, semantic modeling, DAX, and report performance optimization.

  • Experience modernizing legacy BI and reporting environments to Fabric-based architectures.

  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and communicate reporting architecture decisions clearly.

  • Nice to Have

  • Experience with Fabric capacity management, monitoring, and cost optimization.

  • Familiarity with data governance and lineage tools such as Microsoft Purview.

  • Microsoft certifications including Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate or Power BI Data Analyst Associate.

Compensation at Avanade varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
