Job Description

What's the role?

 

As a Manager, Commercial Strategy & Data Analytics plays a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making across Liberty’s Mobile, Fixed Broadband, Video, and beneficial Services businesses.

In this position you can integrate strategic analysis, financial modeling, forecasting, pricing optimization, customer analytics, and commercial planning to uncover growth opportunities and enhance performance across revenue, profitability, customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value. You will act as a trusted advisor to Commercial leadership, the role translates complex and large-scale data into clear, actionable insights. Key responsibilities include developing robust arguments, assessing central initiatives, forecasting commercial performance, and supporting executive decisions across product, pricing, sales, and go-to-market strategies. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, adept at working with large datasets, capable of building financial models from the ground up, and skilled at communicating insights into concise, compelling recommendations for senior leadership.

How can you add value?

 

Commercial Strategy

  • Develop strategic recommendations to drive subscriber growth, revenue expansion, profitability improvement, and customer retention.
  • Build arguments for pricing changes, promotional offers, product launches, customer base management initiatives, and strategic investments.
  • Evaluate commercial opportunities across Mobile and beneficial Services.
  • Support annual planning, budget, forecast, and Long-Range Planning (LRP) processes.
  • Quantify revenue, margin, churn, ARPU, cash flow, and the long-term value generated from customers related to commercial decisions.
  • Assess market opportunities and develop recommendations based on customer behavior, competitive dynamics, and financial returns.

Data Analytics & Insights

  • Extract, manipulate, analyze, and interpret large datasets from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Develop analytical frameworks to monitor business performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Analyze customer growth, dedication, migration, portability, FMC adoption, device attachment rates, and customer lifetime value.
  • Conduct segmentation analyses to identify underserved customer groups and growth opportunities.
  • Develop executive dashboards and performance reports to monitor commercial KPIs.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence and Data teams to improve reporting automation and data accessibility.

Forecasting & Financial Modeling

  • Build and maintain subscriber, revenue, ARPU, and margin forecasting models across all consumer product lines.
  • Forecast sales, gross adds, net adds, churn, ARPU, and revenue performance by:
    • Product
    • Plan
    • Customer segment
    • Sales channel
    • Geography
    • Model customer migrations between prepaid, postpaid, FMC, broadband, and other product categories.
  • Develop scenario analyses to evaluate alternative commercial strategies and investment decisions.
  • Quantify expected impacts of pricing actions, promotional changes, device subsidy strategies, and customer base management initiatives.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting exercises with Finance and Commercial leadership

Pricing & Commercial Performance

  • Evaluate pricing structures, promotional mechanics, discount strategies, and product positioning.
  • Monitor offer performance and recommend optimizations to improve commercial outcomes.
  • Analyze competitor pricing, promotions, product launches, and market activity.
  • Assess promotional effectiveness, cannibalization, incremental volume, and profitability impacts.
  • Recommend pricing and promotional actions to improve long-term customer value and profitability.
  • Demonstrates and ensures compliance with the Customer First Philosophy, all Liberty Latin America’s policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct and Liberty safety standards and procedures.
  • Other functions may be assigned.

What do you need?

Education and/or experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field. MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in management consulting, strategy, analytics, telecom, technology, finance, revenue management, pricing, business operations, or related fields.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience building financial and forecasting models.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Experience in telecommunications, technology, SaaS, or subscription businesses is preferred.
  • Experience with pricing, promotions, customer analytics, or revenue management is preferred.

Other Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) with the ability to communicate orally and in writing preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, experience working with large datasets and some experience coding (SQL or Python)
  • Driven, forward-thinking individual with creative digital advertising solutions and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills enable individuals to establish partnerships with senior leaders and across organizational lines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present sophisticated technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders.
  • Experience with telecommunications or technology industries preferred.
  • Fast learner and able to understand our products, services, offers, and packages to translate to media tactics that generate upsell and call to action.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Skilled in collaborating with business and technical teams, leading solution design, development, and deployment across complementary teams.
  • Proficient in business process analysis, modeling, and proactively addressing data quality issues.
  • Willing to travel.
