Our ideal candidate will be located in the US Southeast Region. The Analyst/Appraiser is responsible for all data entry and quantitative analysis for preparing the appraisal report and works as a member of the Machinery & Equipment team to provide analytical and project support, including on-site inspections, due diligence, management interviews, company and industry research, and narrative report writing per USPAP standards, as they apply to Machinery & Equipment valuations.In this role, you will:
- Participates in on-the-job training to learn fundamental Machinery & Equipment terminology, concepts, practices, and procedures to conduct a typical Machinery & Equipment valuation engagement.
- Reviews previously performed models and completed appraisal reports to gain an understanding of the valuation process and concepts.
- Participates in travel for job inspections, and/or client meetings with or without another Analyst or Appraiser, including taking photographs of assets during site inspections and providing notes and equipment listings.
- Provides analytical and research support for projects as assigned, including company and industry analysis and research on key performance indicators to help determine value.
- Works in accordance with established methodologies and processes with direction from a project manager.
- Communicates directly, as instructed, with bank clients and appraised companies to understand company-provided information and operational challenges.
- Develops a qualitative understanding of nuances that may affect values, and reviews findings with company management and clients.
- Handles multiple projects from start to finish, independently, and with the support of a team, in a fast-paced, deadline driven working environment.
- Provides final appraisal report of quantitative and qualitative findings to client.
- Maintains Gordon Brothers’ Appraisal Application database to ensure accurate and timely contact, company, and project information.
- Learns and adheres to USPAP standards, as they apply to Machinery & Equipment valuations.
- Upholds Gordon Brothers’ Core Values and contributes to the achievement of the objectives of the strategic plan.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Our ideal candidate will be located in the US Southeast Region.
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, finance, supply chain or operations management preferred.
- Two or more years previous work experience, preferably in a manufacturing, warehouse, or other industrial environment
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and Word required. A working knowledge of MS PowerPoint is preferred.
- Understanding of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets; knowledge of industrial or other asset accounting methodologies is beneficial.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- A high degree of integrity and business acumen is required.
- Demonstrated analytical, presentation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%, some overnight, for site inspections.
- Site inspections may require moderate physical activity including walking, bending, reaching, and/or climbing to access and visually inspect equipment.
