Job Description

 

HSBMA LLC is a joint venture company to produce batteries for EVs. The joint venture plans to invest $5 billion to build an EV battery cell plant in Bartow County, Georgia. Hyundai Motor Group and SK On will each hold a 50 percent stake in the joint venture. The new plant created by the two companies is expected to start manufacturing battery cells the second half of 2026 with an annual production capacity of 35 GWh, enough to support the production of 300,000 EVs a year. The future Bartow County plant in northwest Georgia is strategically located near Hyundai Motor Group’s existing and planned U.S. facilities. Hyundai Motor Group broke ground last year on the new Hyundai Motor Group Meta plant America in southeast Georgia to make future Hyundai, Genesis and Kia EVs. 

 


Job Duties and Responsibilities

 Position Summary

The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for supporting and enhancing the employee experience by investigating workplace concerns, ensuring compliance with company policies, and promoting a positive and productive work environment. This role serves as a liaison between employees, supervisors, and management on night shift operations, helping resolve issues, providing guidance, and supporting HR initiatives. This role is scheduled primarily on day shift, with standard working hours occurring during daytime operations; however, flexibility is required to provide occasional evening or night shift support based on employee, workforce, and business needs. 

  1. Employee Relations

    • Assist in resolving employee concerns, conflicts, and workplace issues in a fair and consistent manner.
    • Conduct fact-finding and assist with employee investigations under guidance of the Employee Relations Manager.
    • Support supervisors and managers with coaching, corrective actions, and performance management.
    • Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with company values and policies.
  2. Policy & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies across night shift operations.
    • Educate employees and supervisors on policies, procedures, and expectations.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all employee relations activities.
  3. Shift Support & Communication

    • Serve as the primary HR support for night shift workforce needs.
    • Communicate employee concerns or patterns to HR leadership.
    • Assist with attendance, employee coaching, and shift-related HR issues.
  4. Training & Onboarding

    • Complete structured HR and operations training on day shift.
    • Support night shift onboarding for new employees once training is completed.
  5. HR Administrative Support

    • Assist with creating reports, documenting investigations, and updating employee files.
    • Provide HR-related support during audits and compliance checks.
    • Collaborate with Payroll, Safety, Benefits, and other HR functions as needed.


 

Experience Requirements / Competencies

 

- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor’s preferred.

- Minimum 2–3 years HR or employee relations experience preferred.

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

- Ability to work independently during night shift operations.

- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

- Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
