Job Description

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

PGI is a privately held company, established in 1996.  We are a leading supplier of private label solutions in the automotive industry.  Our focus is on designing, manufacturing and distributing products for automotive, diesel, power-sports and specialty filter markets.  Our supply chain network now branches across the Pacific and into South America.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.  Referring to shop order packet, verifies paint color, paint cup and order quantity.  Enters correct specifications into paint booth control panel for product.  Transports paint from paint storage location to paint booth.

2.  Manually moves paint booth into position, if necessary.  Positions paint guns for proper coating, changes paint cups when necessary, adjusts oven temperature and speed of line.

3.  Monitors painting operation, making any necessary adjustments to insure proper coverage and cure. Blows out paint lines at each paint change or when shutting booth down.  Cleans paint booth by wiping and drying  booth and, when necessary, removing excess waste paint.

4.  Performs pre-determined tests at set intervals or at changeover to ensure paint coverage meets established quality standards and customer requirements.

5.  Changes/cleans filters in paint booths as needed.  Insures that paint waste is disposed of according to company and environmental regulations.  Responsible for keeping the paintroom neat and orderly.

6.  Complete various forms of paperwork, such as product process records, total preventative maintenance log, scrap tickets, transfer tickets, etc. 

7.  Performs necessary inventory of various supplies and orders as needed.

8.  May assist on production line as needed or perform related duties as assigned by supervision.

9.  Follows safety procedures and safe work practices.

10. Utilizes PM, TPM, and predictive techniques and equipment to maintain equipment and tooling in good working condition. Schedules and performs machine tear down to make repairs and modifications

2 shifts available. 1st shift M-F 6:45am-3:15pm 3rd shift M-F 10:30pm-7:00am (Starts Sunday night)

 

Communication:

Communicate with appropriate personnel about problems encountered while performing job duties.

In-person interaction with co-workers and supervisors.

Learning/Reading/Mathematical Comprehension:

Read and understand documents regarding safety and established procedures for operating paint booth.

Interpret and comprehend instructions and information.

Use basic math functions such as addition/subtraction.

Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions regarding sequence of operations to be performed and adjusting equipment as needed.

Read and write to complete required paperwork and access information on the computer.

Access and input information on control panels to change and adjust painting operations.

Visual Requirements:

Monitor paint process insuring product specifications are met.  Distinguish colors.   

Motor Skills:

Manually roll 250# drums of powdered paint short distances to secure in/remove from paint dolly for attachment to paint booth. 

Occasionally lift boxes 45 to 55 pounds. 

Push/roll paint booth into position for operation. 

Continuously stand/walk during course of job duties.

Environment:

Industrial environment with exposure to noise, possible temperature extremes, dirt, solvents, paper dust, paint dust, cleaning supplies (bleach), etc.

Dependability:

Maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct.  Work any shift and overtime as required.
