Job Description

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

PGI is a privately held company, established in 1996.  We are a leading supplier of private label solutions in the automotive industry.  Our focus is on designing, manufacturing and distributing products for automotive, diesel, power-sports and specialty filter markets.  Our supply chain network now branches across the Pacific and into South America.

Job Purpose: Sets-up, operates and checks products to required specifications on all necessary equipment. May perform other duties as assigne

1. Interprets complicated drawings and calculates critical dimensions to determine construction specifications.

2. Create, edit and/or retrieve CNC programs from system files and execute.

3. Set-up and operate machines in accordance with process sheets and any other required paperwork (i.e. drawings, specifications, etc.).

4. Produce and verify quality parts in a safe and efficient manner to required specifications.

5. Monitor and make the correct process changes for maximizing efficiency of process.

6. Identify and troubleshoot process concerns and recommend improvements to the process when needed.

7. Keep work area clean and orderly.

8. Identify set-up reduction opportunities and Lean process opportunities and communicate to supervision.

9. Performs regular safety inspections of equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.

10. Ensures assigned preventative maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.

11. Cleans equipment and performs general housekeeping tasks, keeping work area clean and organized.

12. May perform other duties as assigned.

 

1st shift M-F 6:45am-3:15pm

Communication:

Basic communication skills to receive and convey information concerning problems encountered while performing job duties and to provide assistance to fabrication and

tool & die department personnel.

In-person interaction with co-workers and supervisors.

Learning/Reading/Mathematical Comprehension:

Perform advanced shop math functions.

Learn and comprehend standard operating procedures, quality standards and tooling techniques.

Read and write to access information on the computer, complete required paperwork, and interpret documents.

Visual Requirements:

Distinguish between various items for proper length, width, shape, color and other characteristics.

Visual abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception and ability to focus.

Motor Skills:

Hand/eye coordination to operate precision equipment, use hand tools and to operate various gauges and measuring devices.

Stand, squat, kneel and bend for long periods of time regularly. Move between various work stations frequently.

Push/pull and reach with hands and arms frequently. Flexibility to safely position body in unique positions to move and position tooling.

Frequently lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Environment:

Work in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, possible temperature extremes, dirt, fluids, oils, solvents, etc.

Special Skills:

Mechanical aptitude.

Interpret complex blueprints, drawings and specifications.

Interpret various precision measuring instruments.

Proficient in all CNC machining operations: grinders, mills, and lathes.

Advanced machining training/experience equivalent to two year degree in tool & die.

Experience with blanking, progressive and transfer dies preferred.

Dependability:

Maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Work any shift and overtime as required
